The Colours Exhibitions is a curatorial and art project that takes part at
Abadi Art Space in New Delhi. It is composed of four exhibitions:
Colours are traditionally the material for an artist to create a painting. The mixture, the technique and its application give the texture, the body and life to the picture. Colours can also give sensations, provoke emotions and radiate or absorb energy. They bring shadow, darkness and light to the picture.
The Colours Exhibitions curatorial project uses artworks to represent colours and as a way to create an art exhibition. The definitions, associations and cultural beliefs attached to colours are the points of departure to create and embrace the exhibition, the art works and the space.
The exhibitions explore curatorial and art practices and blend them together with contemporary art and social issues. The proposed exercise is to use the gallery space as a studio bringing in each exhibition an installation to create a three-dimensional picture with the exhibition In this manner, the art works displayed in the exhibition are the materials that the curator uses to create an exhibition that is a picture in itself. The viewer interacts within the space, the exhibition and the colors as of being part and inside a picture that ids the echibition. Curated by José Abad Lorente
